Elaine Yee Lin Ho is Professor in the School of English, University of Hong Kong. She has published 3 books, one co-edited journal special issue, and over 30 of her articles have appeared in internationally refereed journals edited in the UK, US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. Ho’s monographs on Timothy Mo (Manchester University Press) and Anita Desai (Northcote) are the first book-length critical studies of the two authors. Recently, in China Abroad (HKU Press) and other major articles, she has extended her research on the historical specificities of colonial and postcolonial Hong Kong, both in terms of Hong Kong’s complex relations to mainland China and of Hong Kong’s unique position as a minor locus for English-language literary writing.

At HKU, she has served on committees and taskforces on research, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum reform, student affairs, human resources, university services, and panels of inquiry. She has been Associate Dean of the Arts Faculty, Head of the School of English, Senate member, Public Orator.
